- Reducing emissions
Volvos main motivating factor to develop their hybrid range is all down to their commitment and care to the environment, the impact and carbon footprint. Volvos main goal is to create a cleaner, safer planet for everyone.
Volvo has big ambitions they have set themselves targets to reduce our carbon footprint by 40 percent by 2025 compared to 2018. And to be climate neutral by 2040. All Volvo cars are available as plug-in hybrids. By covering charging up costs to one year when you purchase a plug-in hybrid, Volvo believe this will highlight the efficient energy usage.
Volvo believe that to achieve these figures they need to encourage others to take similar steps, they are helping their suppliers to increase their renewable energy use as well as using more sustainable materials in their cars and reducing waste. Volvo already has an ambition that at least 25 percent of all plastics in new Volvos launched after 2025 will be made from recycled materials.
Volvo believe that manufacturing electric vehicles is a start but it will not solely help decrease the carbon footprint and our environment. Volvos main vision is to be climate neutral across their full chain by 2040.
